May Reads

And sometimes I have a hard time finding indie books to fill my monthly recommended list!

This month, I give you my favorite authors! These authors NEVER fail to impress me and entertain me when I need it most. They love interacting with readers and make you feel like you’ve always been apart of the family! So, please click every link and discover something new!

Tim Wilborn

In the afterlife, any righteous person can enjoy the bounty of Heaven, but only the elite have the option to serve and protect it as angels. For those that choose to serve the Kingdom of Heaven, with exceptional service, there is the possibility of reincarnation as a human being on Earth. Click the image to visit Tim’s site!

McKayla Jade

I’ve been writing as long as I can remember. Looking back, it might have been a way for me to escape. Let’s suffice it to say my young life has given me experiences I wouldn’t wish for anyone. Maybe it was a good thing, only in that it led me to where I am today. Writing like crazy and loving my life! Let me be honest though, I couldn’t do any of this or be where I am without my tribe. They hold me up and encourage me, even when I’m just not into it. Click on Mckalya’s picture to find more.

Brian K. Morris

Brian K. Morris (that’s me!) is a full-time indie publisher, hybrid author, “award-winning” playwright, occasional actor, and former morticians assistant. I live in Central Indiana with my wife, no children, no pets, and too many comic books.
My works appear in magazines such as BACK ISSUE Magazine, Hogan’s Alley, Knights of the Dinner Table, RetroFan Magazine, The Jack Kirby Collector, The Krypton Companion, and several other publications in varying degrees of obscurity. My short stories can be found in anthologies such as With Great Power, Metahumans Vs. The Ultimate Evil, Malicious Mysteries and Quest For the Space Gods, all available here on Amazon.

Because I don’t have enough to do, I put out two vlogs every week on my Facebook profile page: NEVERMIND THE FURTHERMORE (Mondays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. Eastern) and my newest show, COMIC BOOK SPECTRUM (Thursdays at 7 p.m. Eastern).
If you want to receive my monthly newsletter, filled with tips, news, promoting my very talented friends, info on my personal appearances, and the MYSTERY LINK, sign up at
(Your contact info will never be sold, given away, rented, donated, abandoned, spindled, folded, or mutilated.)
I also host a YouTube Channel where you can see interviews with my creative friends and give some ground-level advice on writing at … please SUBSCRIBE and ring that bell so you receive sufficient warning of new content.

Thanks for reading!

Amy Hale

Since childhood, best-selling and award-winning author Amy Hale has been using the written word to inspire, encourage, and entertain. She loves creating characters and worlds from nothing but her imagination and a few glasses of wine. Her popular paranormal series The Shadows Trilogy has earned multiple awards, as have the Havenwood Falls books, of which she is a participating author. She’s also a participating author in the Feisty Heroines anthology which became a #1 New Release and Bestseller on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Nook shortly after its release.
She debuted her first fiction novel in 2015 after retiring from 13 years of non-fiction writing for various online entities.
In 2020 she and her husband, John, started the web-based interview show Creative As Hale. They interview creatives in various mediums to inspire and educate.
For the last couple of decades, she’s also carried the titles of Laundry Goddess, Chef, Butt Wiper, Soother of Temper Tantrums, and in more recent years, Moderator of Sarcastic Eye-rolls and Sass. She resides in Illinois with her husband, one dog, various reptiles, and 17 chickens.
In her spare time, she enjoys music, photography, watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 with her family, and long rides on the back of her husband’s motorcycle.

Nicholas Anthony Tockert II

I am a Freelance Artist, Author, Game Designer, Swordmaster and a dabbling, though retired, paranormal investigator. I have spent 20 years freely instructing students in the art of swordplay. During that time I have worked with students from numerous disciplines, specializing in adaptive techniques to help those with physical limitations. The Simple Sword Series is born out of years or study trying to distill period texts into a simple to understand system for anyone who wants to be able to use a sword, regardless of groups.
Related fencing videos for my group, The Historical Fencing Guild, can be found at:
My work with special needs individuals combined with my love of tactics games lead me to believe there is need for mechanically simple, but full featured game systems that also are inexpensive. BSR was born out of wanting a fast fun game I could play anywhere with nearly anything.
